Guitars

GuitarI decided to add a section showing some of the different guitars I use for playing and recording. I am a Fender and Gibson lover by nature, however I currently own mostly Washburn guitars.

I have been playing the guitar since I was 10 years old. Some of my biggest influences include Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, and Steve Vai. As you can see, I primarily play a lot of rock & roll.

Nice guitars Josh. I’m looking for an electric upgrade from my Fender strat el cheapo. I hadn’t considered Washburn. They look similar to some Epiphones and Gibsons. Washburns are very rare in Australia, in fact I’ve never seen one here.

My best acoustics are a Takamine and a Tanglewood – both solids cedar tops which I found out I prefer.

I’m going to check out your recordings now.

Thank you. Haha, yeah I’ve had quite a few “el cheapo’s” in my time! You know, I went to the guitar store here in town a few days ago as a matter of fact. It’s time for me to upgrade one of my acoustics… and I do like Takamine. I haven’t played a Tanglewood, but I’ll have to give it a go.

Anyways, at the store, I spend the better part of the afternoon playing various guitars from their “controlled room”. I simply couldn’t find one which made me feel like “That’s the one”. I’m sure you know what I mean when you’re getting ready to spend $1000+ on a musical instrument. So, frustrated, I walked back toward the door to exit the store. The “old-timer” clerk at the counter turned to me and said, “you were here 3 hours and aren’t buying anything”? I told him I wanted to… but nothing was calling my name. He simply said… “well, today’s not the day… come back tomorrow”. 🙂
